In times of war, powerty and loneliness, art might inspire and spark a fire to keep on going or dreaming about a better future. Love is number one. Art is number two.
Life is relatively short, whilst art lives on forever creating a time vacuum sort of to remind us of what has been, and to spin thoughts on what might be. We connect through body language even if we don't speak the same language, and art is too a common ground for us to communicate through. That is why art is so important whether you're aware of it or not.
Someone who has been important in opening my eyes when it comes to taking an art process seriously, having fun with art, see how art might be political, how it is philosophical, how it is important, and how it can be seen from such different angles as he sees it is Karstein Solli.
